Natural Beach White Lines, ceramic textured wall art

Interior mosaic wall art inspired by British beaches and the natural coastline. This artwork reflects a calmness and serenity as I walked the beaches during lockdown foraging for materials, observing the natural coastline and breathing in the sea air. This artwork is entirely unique, it combines beach ceramic finds with hand cut marble and strands of unglazed porcelain in chalky white tones.  I often choose to work in a monochromatic colour palette, exploring the different tones of a single colour with texture and pattern. All mosaics are original and can never be repeated exactly.

Framed in a 20” circular handcrafted birch frame, this artwork is surprisingly lightweight and ready to hang. The neutral colour palette would suit a natural or scandi style home interior.

Natural Grey Rock, mosaic wall art

Circular mosaic wall art inspired by geology and the coastal landscape. River rocks provided the inspiration for this colour palette of deep slate, shades of grey and a splash of rust. This piece is entirely unique, it contains river rocks and my beach combing finds from travelling around Great Britain! I combine these with unglazed porcelain tiles which I cut into strands to create texture and pattern. In this piece I work freehand in an abstract style, guided by the materials I’m working with – it gives the work a natural flow and pattern. All mosaics are original and can never be repeated exactly.

Natural Ochre Layers

Interior mosaic wall art inspired by the natural coastline and geology. I hand cut unglazed porcelain tiles into strands, using the uneven cut surface to create texture and pattern.  This is also a study of colour, inspired by the different shades of ochre you find in layers of rock formations along the British coast. I love beach combing for material finds and include fragments of sea tumbled ceramic with pebbles and rocks that fit the tones of the work. In this piece I include stone from the Norfolk coastline which is more earthy in colour as well as the yellow and chalky white tones from Devon and Dorset. This is a one off original which can never be replicated exactly.
